Transportation:

Local Bus:

Fare is $5.5 Pesos. Must purchase a new ticket every time you board another bus.

No “transfers”. Buses go from one end of town to the other.

Olas Altas Bus:

From downtown, Plaza, Malecon To Southside, Los Muertos Beach, Plaza Dorada                     

Hotels or Aeropuerto Bus: 

To head north toward downtown, Airport, Hotel Zone

Airport/Maritime:

• Usually vans boarded at airport or harbor.

Fixed rate per passenger:

• City- Usually yellow nissan cars

• Charge by ride, not passenger.                     

• Fare in Centro Zone (Downtown) 20 Pesos.

• Tariffs are preset on meters.

• Always a good idea to ask price before entering taxi.

FYI:

• If you know which restaurant that you want to go to don’t let the driver change your mind. They get commissions for bringing customers. When you ask to go downtown, many taxis will let you off neat Hidalgo Park. Your fare covers the entire central area so don’t walk if you don’t want to. Note the number of your taxi in case of any problem, or if you forget something in the taxi.
