Beaches:  Un dia en la playa

With the circumference of Banderas Bay stretching about 40 miles, it is not surprising that Puerto Vallarta has beaches everywhere.

Plaza Dorada is located on “Playa Los Muertos” beach, on the South Side of town.

The beach runs from the Cuale River at the north to the rocks

jutting out in the water to the south.

It has always been one of the most popular beaches for its local color.

If you prefer to get away from the crowds, there are many secluded beaches to the North and South of the city.

South:

          Boca de Tomatlan,

          From the Los Muertos pier go by water taxi to:

                   Las Animas, Yelapa,Quimixto, Majahuitas,   

                   Caletas

North:

         Bucerias, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle,Destiladeras,

         El Anclote, Punta de Mita

Most of the beaches have small family-run palapa restaurants where you can lounge under the palms all day.
